(PHOENIX, AZ) – Lisa B. Lumbard, CPA, CGFM, has been named Chairperson of the Accounting and Auditing Advisory Committee for the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. The Phoenix-based accountant will serve a one-year term for the 2017 fiscal budget cycle.
The Accounting and Auditing Advisory Committee provides policy guidance on issues such as financial reporting, taxation, and other aspects of public accounting. It operates as one of several key committees under the state’s Board of Accountancy, whose mission is to provide public assurance that CPAs operate at the highest level of competence.
A veteran with more than three decades of experience auditing nonprofits and governmental agencies, Ms. Lumbard has served on multiple professional boards and industry panels. In addition to the Arizona Board of Accountancy, she is an active member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Government Finance Officers Association of Arizona (GFOA-AZ) and several Phoenix-area nonprofit groups.
In 2015, her firm, Lumbard and Associates, PLLC, became a division of Orange County-based CPA firm The Pun Group, LLP. The firm specializes in audit, review, accounting, compliance, special reporting, SOC I & II, board governance training and management consulting needs for clients throughout California and Arizona.

In addition to her CPA certification, which she received in 1992, Ms. Lumbard has been a Certified Government Financial Manager for 20 years. She graduated from Arizona State University with a BS Degree in Accounting.
