The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, founded in 1887, is the world largest association representing the accounting profession, with nearly 377,000 members in 128 countries. Internal Revenue Service

The IRS is organized to carry out the responsibilities of the secretary of the Treasury under section 7801 of the Internal Revenue Code. The secretary has full authority to administer and enforce the internal revenue laws and has the power to create an agency to enforce these laws. The IRS was created based on this legislative grant. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

California Franchise Tax Board

The California Franchise Tax Board is responsible for administering two California’s major tax programs: Personal Income Tax and the Corporation Tax. The Board also has the responsibility for administering other nontax programs such as Political Reform Act audits, Delinquent Vehicle Registration, Court-Ordered Debt, and labor law violations.
